Any Indian can utilize the Aadhaar, a crucial identity ID, for a number of tasks, including completing their IT returns. The methods for downloading your Aadhaar card without generating an OTP are covered in this article.
Why is an OTP required to Download an Aadhaar Card?
Aadhaar cards contain your name, address, gender, and biometric data (fingerprints and iris scans) in addition to a 12-digit number that is specific to you. Like other official and financial documents, you may quickly download it off the internet and use it as proof when needed.
Typically, a password is required in order to access the soft copy of your Aadhaar. This is to protect the security of your Aadhaar details. A Masked Aadhaar, in which the initial eight numbers are masked, is also available for download.

An OTP is needed in order to download your Aadhaar card for security reasons. There are options to download it without an OTP, though, if you don't have your registered cell number on you when you do so.
The Aadhaar Download Without an OTP
- Without an OTP, you can download your Aadhaar card by:
- input your name, gender, and birthdate on the UIDAI website (you do not need to input your phone number).
- Check if your details are current.
- Enter your name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, and request number to download the e-Aadhaar.
- Generate a TOTP to download the e-Aadhaar instead of an OTP.
- Keep in mind that Aadhaar cards that you download without an OTP can only be electronic copies that you can keep on your phone; they cannot be printed. To generate this, use the mAadhaar app on your phone. It's a great method to keep it safe and is officially recognized as ID evidence.
